    June 17, 1999

At its June meeting, the Propane Education & Research Council voted to establish three advisory committees which will be responsible for working on the implementation of programs in its three mission areas-consumer education, safety and training, and research and development. Committee member nominations will be submitted to the Council at its next meeting, September 20-21 in Washington, D.C.

Each committee will consist of approximately 12 people. Consumer Education Advisory Committee: The committee will be responsible for working with Council staff and the Council's communications firm to implement a public relations and marketing program for the propane industry. For more information, contact Kate Caskin, vice president of communications.

Safety and Training Advisory Committee: The committee will be responsible for reviewing and overseeing current Council-funded safety and training projects, establishing priorities, budgets and timelines, and making recommendations for future safety and training grant requests as well as researching and identifying additional projects to recommend to the Council. For more information, contact Keveney Furst, director of industry programs.
