2003 Safe Grilling Campaign Recall Information

The industry's 2003 Safe Grilling Campaign continues to provide its customers with accurate information of how to cook safely using a propane barbecue. That's why when we recently discovered a technical error in the campaign's written materials— parenthetical note telling the consumer to turn the valve cylinder connected to the propane tank counterclockwise (instead of clockwise) —we immediately stopped orders on all safe grilling written materials and notified all purchasers of the materials of the error. We asked them to dispose of the materials, and stated that they would receive a full credit for the materials purchased. The error was noticed very early in the process, so very few materials were actually released.

We now ask that any propane marketer, state affiliate, or other industry stakeholder who ordered the materials prior to July 20 to contact Stuart Flatow —PERC's Vice President, Safety and Training, at either 202-261-2202 or stuart.flatow@propanecouncil.org.

We have corrected the error and the 2003 Safe Grilling Campaign written materials are currently available through your PERC/NPGA Resource catalog.
